QIS2012 - The Standard for Health Management Programmes and Interventions is the new Standard developed by QISMET which will be universally applicable and therefore offers providers of newer programmes the opportunity to apply for certification

QISMET AUDITORS

To date QISMET has run two auditor training programmes for appropriately qualified people. Only QISMET trained Auditors are permitted to carry out audits on provider organisations which have applied to QISMET for certification.

Those who were selected for the first auditor training programme are people who are both knowledgable and experienced in the provison and delivery of lay led self management programmes and include a number who live with a long term condition. The first cohort of QISMET auditors undertook their first audits early in 2011 and audited the first seven providers of the Chronic Disease Self Management Programme to be contracted to deliver the course under the National Tariff Scheme operated by a number of PCTs in the West Midlands area. The standard these providers were audited against is SS2Q (minimum level).

In March 2011 a second cohort of QISMET Auditors were trained in preparation for auditing selected pilot sites against the draft Diabetes Self Management Education Standard (DSME Standard). Those recruited and trained as QISMET Auditors in this second training programme are knowledgable and experienced in delivery and provision of diabetes education and or audit and include a number of people who are living with diabetes. The DSME Standard Pilot is currently underway with eight pilot sites involved. Audits will be taking place in October 2011.
